Get in the camper van!

Ya, you heard the title, get in the camper van! So we rented a six berth camper van. It is a United campervan
With 3 beds, a bathroom and shower. Now let's get to the details! The camper van has step on the outside of the door that comes out when you push a button. It had everything you need in the kitchen. It had a grill, stove and oven. It also had four passenger seats that u can pull out and turn into a bed. It also has a table and lounging area that can also be pulled out into a bed. One of a the best parts is that there is a microwave and tv! My favorite place to sleep is on the upstairs bed above where my dad's driver seat is. We camped in campervan holiday parks right on the beach. At our first holiday park there was a waterslide into heated pool where I went flying off it! Our second holiday park was at a hot water beach. There was a class camp there. I met a friend there named Liam. Our classroom is going to be penpals with his class! We played a couple
Games with his class. We played rugby which was really fun and spot light tag after the sun went down in a field bigger than a football field.
Liam and I had to hide in the prickly weeds and tall grass so nobody would find us. They were all dairy farmers and invited us to come visit their farmer, so we r going there Monday. I am going to come back in a week, Kai out!

I doubt you want to hear about the Doubtful Sound

The Doubtful Sound wasn't so exciting for me. It just meant transportation all day. There was one thing I liked, though, the wildlife! The wildlife was penguins that looked like ducks and dolphins that splashed us.

We had to get up at 6am to get there on time. We had to do a 2 hour drive. I was tired of being so close to my sister every day. We had to take a boat ride that was about an hour. They gave us coloring pages and crayons.Shortly after that, we took a magnificent bus ride that Mia says wasn't very magnificent. But she was sleeping, so how could she know? It was magnificent because we were on the most expensive road in New Zealand. It cost $5 to build an inch of road. I added it up. If there's 5000 feet in a mile, then it cost $300,000 per mile.Halfway through our next boat ride, I asked my mom "When are we going to get to the Doubtful Sound? I want to take the tour. This is taking forever.". Apparently we had been in the Doubtful Sound for the last 6 hours and I did not know. Next blog I will be writing about our camper-van. See you guys soon!Kai

I am still falling........

This day was one of the scariest!  We went bungy jumping......actually my mom and grandpa did it.  I wanted to go but you had to be ten or older so I just missed it!  Rats!!!  To me it looked fun but falling w200 feet looked scary.  From my mom's description, it was scarier than sky diving!  Which is hard to believe.  Next we did one of the most awesomest things ever, we did the shotover Jet boat ride!  We went up to 50 mph or 80 kph here.  We went over places so shallow they were only 5-10 centimeters deep, that is only 3 " deep!  The river wasn't even 30 feet wide and the sides of the river were amazing canyons and rocks! The driver named Brad drove us so close to the rocks that we were only a couple inches from hitting them.  When I got off the boat it felt like my hair was going to fall off.

Kiwi birds, where!

Yesterday was one of the sweetest days on earth for me.  As we were getting out of the house, my mom decided that we should go to a cookie store.  I had a cookie that was one of the best cookies in the world.  We actually waited for it to be cooked so it was nice n hot!  And gooey!  Next we went to the candy shop.  I got four dollars to spend on candie.  I got gum instead of gum cause the candy didn't look so good to me.  Next we went to the kiwi bird society park.  I saw a real live kiwi bird!  He was adorable!  WE also saw some rare birds, like the Kea, Moorpark Owl, and the New Zealand Falcon.  THere is even a New Zealand Pigeon!  I think that he belongs on Pigeon Island with me.  There is a lizard that has 3 eyes too, its called the Tuatara.  They no longer live on either South or North Island due to introduced species like the possum and the stout.  They only live on small outer Islands where there are no land based predators.    See you guys soon!

Lord of the Rings Adventure

Wow, yesterday was amazing!
We drove 40 minutes to the lord of the rings territory. My family and I started hiking in the forest very slowly but then we went very fast because it started to get chilly. I was one of the 3 that went slowly so I could tell what scene we were in from Lord of the Rings. When we were heading back we stopped at the Glenarchy cafe. There i tripped  and my soda went spraying all over my head. About 10 minutes from Queenstown. we spotted Piegon Island. {My Dad said that I belong there.}See all you guys in 2 weeks.
